This Lil Smokies Recipe With Grape Jelly Is So Easy To Make, Even A 4-year Old Can Make It!

This recipe is not hard to make at all, you simply toss everything into the crockpot and let it simmer for a few hours!  How much easier can it get than that??

Children love making this recipe because it is so easy.  I just do not recommend that you let them turn the crock pot on.  An adult should do that, but a child can easily put all of the ingredients into the pot, and place the if on it!

Children especially LOVE smushing the jelly!

Be Sure To Smush that Jelly Good!

This recipe is called lil smokies recipe with grape jelly for a reason! It uses a lot of grape jelly!

If you have never cooked jelly in a crockpot, then you may not know that lumps of jelly can sugar into very hard cubes if the jelly is mot smushed properly.  This can crack a tooth, so be sure to smush the jelly well!

To do this, first dump the jelly into the pot.  Next, smush it with a tater mashed until the jelly looks like a pile of slime.  You want no lumps larger than a pea.    This will make lumps small enough to melt fully before it cooks into a hard cube.

Cook It For Several Hours!

You will want the flavor of the chili sauce and jelly to thoroughly  marinade the lil smokies well.  When the smoky flavor mixes with the spice of the chili sauce, and the sweet of the jelly, your mouth will POP!

There’s a reason this lil smokies recipe with grape jelly (one HAS to include the jelly!) is a southern favorite, because it goes so great with all sorts of beverages from Kool-Aid to Sweet Tea and Coke!

The longer you cook it, the more intense the wonderful flavor will be!

If you like this recipe, let me know in the comments section below!  I hope you enjoy it, and be sure to take a pot to your next family reunion or festive event!
